Husky Products

Our computer services go beyond just computer repairs. We purchase the equipment and products necessary to meet each customerís needs, and provide networking set up for everything from small offices to large corporate facilities.

On-site server hosting is best for basic networking, file, and print sharing, or for dedicated applications such as an email server. The benefits of an on site server include:

  • - Ensures reliability for daily activities
  • - Provides data backup and remote management
  • - Small businesses or organizations with on site servers are in place for growth as these systems are scalable for growing data needs
  • - An on site server will help in implementing virtualization. Virtualization helps users improve and maximize server utilization and consolidate legacy systems

There is also Virtual Private Server Hosting (VPS), which empowers your SMB business, development environment, or reseller business with all the tools and resources you need.

Whatever your specific need is, we can help you determine the best option for your business.

Desktop/Laptop Computers Configured to Client Specifications

Weíve done a great deal of customized network configurations for our clients, and we can certainly advise you on the best way to go for our business needs. Each of the two types of systems has its advantages, and each addresses different needs. Together we can figure out if you want mobility, computing power, graphic stations, Internet functionality and text editor options.

The mobility of a laptop is very important for travelers, or if the job requires Internet access or text editing functionality. As a general rule, a laptop configuration is more expensive, so opt for the laptop only if you or your employees travel a great deal. Desktop configurations have reached a certain level of market saturation, and are naturally lower in price. Rest assured that we will work with you to provide the best configuration at the best price.

Printers Ė laser and inkjet

Whether you own your own business or need a printer for personal use, before you pick your brand and model, decide between a laser printer or an inkjet printer. We'll help you analyze the pros and cons of each, but here are a few basics:

The key difference between inkjet and laser printers is the type of ink that they use. Inkjet printers use liquid ink and laser printers use powdered ink. The price of laser printer ranges from $80, such as the HP-LaserJet P1007, to $5,000 for something like the Xerox-Phaser 7760. The price of inkjet printer ranges from $40 (Canon-Pixma iP1300) to $500, (Epson-Stylus Photo R1900).

While the cost of inkjet printers is less than the cost for laser printers, the maintenance of an inkjet printer gives laser printer the edge. For example, if you print 7 pages a day for a year on the Canon Pixma inkjet, you will have to change the cartridge 12 times, or once a month for a year. The cartridge in the HP Laser Jet supports 2500 printed pages, so if you print 7 pages a day for one year, that means you only have to buy a new cartridge once a year. Although the yearly prices for maintenance is roughly the same, the cost of a laser jet over time is more economical.

Networking Equipment (Switches, VPN Routers, Wireless Routers, etc.)

We are experienced with the equipment required for networking, and can provide access to several models, or education about each element as requested. Simply put, switches are multi-port bridges that use a filtering/switching mechanism to redirect data to the most suitable machines, based on certain elements found in the data packets. It can also act as both a port when filtering and as a hub when handling connections.

VPN routers provides security and connectivity at several levels so systems can be deployed to provide dedicated encrypted gateways, firewall protection, or perform as an IP access routers connection. A wireless router performs the same functions of a router, but also allows access to the Internet or a computer network without the need for a cabled connection. It can function in a wired LAN (local area network), a wireless only LAN (WLAN), or a mixed wired/wireless network. Some wireless routers also include a DSL or cable modem in addition to their other components.

Back-up Equipment - Home and Office

We all need back up, and a networked system is no different. In fact, itís a necessity. Our data backup configurations have gotten many of our clients out of a jam, especially if the PC freezes, or important documents or data cannot be found by the human eye. We provide onsite backups for fast restore times and secure, offsite storage for disaster recovery. Our full local data backup is combined with a storage subscription to replicate data offsite and to reduce backup windows and bandwidth requirements.

Computer/Network Software

The software we will recommend will depend on the kind of functionality you want your network to have. Software is merely a collection of computer programs and related data that tell the computer what to do. Itís a set of programs, procedures, algorithms, and its documentation.
